Board & Staff
WVGA encourages nominations, including self nominations, for the Board of Directors.  While nominations can be made at any time during the year, the Nominating Committee proposes a slate of nominees to the membership each year in late summer.  The membership votes on the board membership during its annual meeting held in the fall.

The following criteria are used to review all nominations:

• Experience in the philanthropic sector as either trustee or staff of a grantmaking organization;
• Familiarity with West Virginia Grantmakers Association, as evidenced by conference attendance, participation in seminar and workshop activities, or service as an information resource to grantmakers;
• Service on committees of West Virginia Grantmakers Association; and
• Diversity, including race, gender, geography, and type of grantmaking institution.
